Copal Founder: Jennie Fresa
Jennie graduated from the University of Rhode Island in 1998 with a BA in Human Development and Family Studies. Soon after, she decided to pursue a career in the beauty industry. She received her skincare and makeup certification at the Institute of Aesthetic Arts and Sciences in Southbury, CT, and went on to spend a majority of her career working for Trish McEvoy in NYC as a Regional Trainer and International Makeup Artist. Here, she gained valuable experiences working backstage at Vogue for the Met Gala, collaborating on various editorial photo shoots, and eventually finding her niche in bridal beauty.
After meeting her husband and moving back to CT in 2008, she started her own Traveling Bridal Beauty Team. Jennie and her team have won numerous awards and have been featured on many wedding blogs such as Style Me Pretty and Carats and Cake. Jennie’s work has also been published in Martha Stewart Weddings and in the inspirational coffee table book, The White Dress in Color.
Soon after launching her bridal business, Jennie started taking a closer look at the products she was personally using and recommending to her clients. After some further research, she discovered many ingredients in these products are actually cancer-causing chemicals, reproductive toxins and unsafe synthetics. Her mission to educate women on healthier cosmetic choices grew stronger. Eventually this led to her opening the doors to her brick and mortar store in Madison CT in 2012. Jennie Fresa Beauty Bar offers women a selection of non-toxic beauty brands as well as top rated makeup, skincare, and brow styling services.
Today, Jennie is happy to extend her curated collection of new & noteworthy clean beauty brands to women nationwide through Copal Clean Beauty. Copal was born after having a spiritual journey in Tulum, Mexico, and out of a deepened desire to help all women make smarter choices with their cosmetics.
Jennie is currently enrolled at the world’s foremost school for holistic health, The Institute for Integrative Nutrition. As a Natural Beauty Expert + Wellness Coach, she looks forward to educating women on the importance of switching to safe cosmetics and how to achieve optimal health and vibrant beauty from the inside out.
Jennie currently lives in Madison CT with her husband, Doug, her black Lab, Ellie & Ms. Kitty. When she’s not working, she enjoys consignment shopping, taking long baths, visiting NYC as much as possible, traveling and relaxing at home with her loves.
